Clare Grogan Michael Anderson Tony McDaid
Johnny McElhone
The webmaster, north Bucks:
"A classic example of
not wanting to go to the gig because I thought it would be dreadful, yet
the reverse was true. I had bought the tickets on hearing I Could Be
Happy. Then I heard their first album from 1981 and was dismayed.
Fortunately John Peel played the Pinky Blue album which this show was part
of that tour and was so different to that first album. They were great. I
also remember when the crew were setting up the microphones for Altered
Images, that Clare Grogan's appeared to be about three feet high. She was
TINY! but a great presence"
From Joe McCallion (in
2009):
Altered Images autographed at this gig as below
It was all over bar the shouting by 1983.
Grogan has toured under the Altered Images name for 80s Hits tours in the
2000s. McElhone has had three stabs at success. After Altered Images he
went on to join Hipsway who had a big hit with The Honey Thief and then
co-founded Texas with Sharleen Spiteri in 1986 and they're still going 20
something
years later.
