The
permanent Friars Aylesbury art installation
As you know, we have lent
our support to a project by Year 10 GCSE art students at Cottesloe School
in Wing (led by head of Art, Clare Bye) to create an art
mural/installation based heavily on iconic images of Friars Aylesbury.
This mural was unveiled in Friars Square shopping centre
on Thursday September 23rd by none other than David Stopps and was covered
by BBC Oxford, Bucks TV, The Bucks Herald, Mix 96 and the Friars website.
There was a shortlist of
four pieces of art and number four was voted the winner by members of
Friars Aylesbury and the general public.
To say we are enormously proud and honoured is
an understatement and a huge tribute as well to Clare and her students
for a magnificent piece of work.
