"At
the Dunstable gig they turned up very late and there was a dispute about
payment. I remember getting a call the next day from their manager the
legendary Don Arden (Sharon Osbourne’s dad) wanting to know why I had paid
them half. After a brief explanation he accepted that this was reasonable
(Amazingly)."
ELO went huge in the late
70s with their legendary spaceship lighting rig. It went a bit pear shaped
in the end with Bevan touring with former members as ELO Pat 2, something
he did also with The Move to Roy Wood's displeasure. Jeff Lynne released a
new album under the ELO banner in 2001 featuring a fleeting contribution
from Richard Tandy.
