The band disbanded in 1985 and worked on solo projects. Belinda Carlisle was huge in the UK. Jane Wiedlin had a big hit with Rush Hour in 1988.
There were various band law suits against each other which got resolved and a new album surfaced in 2001. They are touring again in 2008.
