The webmaster, north Bucks:

"This was one of those when the timings all went right. Howard was starting to get well and truly noticed and the gig culminated with David Stopps (by now his manager as well as Friars promoter) presenting him with a silver disc for the sales of his first single "New Song" A local act filling Friars is always going to be a good night. The sights of Jed Hoile and his specialist mime performances stay in the memory too"

One of three local acts to go big in 1983 (Marillion and Kajagoogoo the others), Howard kept on getting bigger and bigger playing the country's biggest venues by 1985/6 and had many successful singles and albums (including the No 1 Humans Lib in 1984). Also appeared at Live Aid 1985. Howard still makes records and gigs today and in 2008 celebrates his 25th anniversary with a special gig at the London Indigo2
