Trak from Rumble Strips writing for the Friars Aylesbury Website in 2009:

We (Rumble Strips) supported Racing Cars at the Friars September 3rd 1977, and they then took us with them on their autumn college tour. We finished up at the Hammersmith Odeon, which was quite something for a little four-piece from Norwich. We used to play clubs that were smaller than the Odeon stage.

RC were really good to us. We always got a sound-check, Mal used to do the lights for us and they were all really friendly. When we heard we were playing the Friars we thought we had made it. All the bands who had played there before; standing on the same stage as David Bowie. Incredible.

Some of us are still making music as The Random Acts of Kindness

All the Best, and many thanks

Phil

Racing Cars had split within a few years, getting back in the 2000s where they released their most recent album in 2007. Support act Warren Harry died in March 2008.
