Internal problems led to the band ultimately breaking up. Feargal Sharkey had solo success including the No 1 A Good Heart and got into radio production and became a bigwig in the Radio Authority. The band reformed in 1999 and continue to exist with the original line up, minus Sharkey.
As for The Knack...remember My Sharona? Thought so.
