what happened next
Hawkwind are still going strong as at 2015 ! From this line up, Lemmy was relieved of his duties and set about creating the UK's loudest meanest rock band Motorhead, who still tour big venues after 40 years.          

van der graaf generator  the band are still going strong, having reformed in 2005 with Hamill, Evans and Banton.  Nic Potter died in 2012
