what happened next
Hackett has continued to have a solo career to the present day. He rejoined his old mates in the Genesis/Gabriel Milton Keynes 1982 reunion. Hackett was included in the 2006 Genesis reunion discussion where it was planned that Peter Gabriel would also rejoin. When it came clear that Gabriel was not able to commit, Hackett dropped out also and the band carried on with the core three members.

Hackett returned to friars in 2013 as part of the genesis revisited tour
