  mutter slater, stackridge

I think it must have been the 30th Dec '72 gig - I always remember it as being 'New Year's Eve' celebration, but my memory could be playing me false - when a large cake was wheeled onto the stage at the crucial moment only for Peter Gabriel to pop out and wish everyone a Happy New Year. Someone e-mailed me recently, who mentioned that he came up to buy me a drink at a bar near The Friars before a gig. He butted in on a conversation I was having at the time with someone he didn't recognise, who turned out to be Peter. I think this must have been the same night. Then again, there's no real way of being sure
