The webmaster, north Bucks:

I wanted to see just if the Loudest Band In the World tag held true as well as wanting to see Motorhead do some fine stuff. I also decided it would be dead clever (along with a mate) to stand in front of the PA with my head practically resting inside one of the cabinets in the hope I would actually be deafened. I was disappointed this didnít happen (although ears my rang like hell afterwards) and that The Clash earlier in 1980 were even louder.

Also if I hadnít have been standing in such a stupid place (I was unlucky though), I may not have been hit by flying shrapnel from the initial explosion of their Bomber lighting rig. I thought I was imagining it until I sat in the bar and felt a lump on my head which by the end of the evening started to resemble an egg. We didnít have compensation culture in those daysÖ..not that I would have, itís not the way we thought then!
