An amazing gig and one of the last with all four original members. Call me odd, but I do remember Pete Farndon’s bass amps had a big yellow light on which illuminated in varying degrees of brightness dependant on how much and how hard he played his guitar. Strange how you remember things like that. I vaguely remember The Bureau  - made up of a lot of Geno period Dexy’s members. I do remember them coming on stage though and shouting "get out of the fucking bar!"

I remember this for Chrissie Hynde’s stage presence and some great great songs like Message of Love, a classic of the early 80s and which I still play today

what happened next
The Pretenders survived the deaths of both Farndon and Honeyman - Scott to carry on being successful through the 1980s. The Pretenders are still here today led by the charismatic Hynde and Martin Chambers is also back on board. The current line up last released an album in 2002. Chambers also played the Mott The Hoople reunion gigs in place of an ailing Dale Griffin
